Resident Protection: Standard Shield - Scanner
(Advanced)
- Scan files on open. In addition to the file types set on
the Scanner (Basic) page, you can specify other file types,
recognized by the file extension, that will be scanned on
starting/opening. The extensions should be separated by comma. You
can use the wildcard "?" (e.g. if you want all .htm and .html
opened files to be scanned, enter either "htm, html" or use the
wildcard - "ht?"; in the later case, however, all files with
extensions starting with "ht", such as "htt", will be scanned).
- Always scan WSH-script files. This option ensures that
all script files (Windows Scripting Host) will be tested.
- Do not scan system libraries. Trusted system libraries
will not be scanned on open, only a quick check will be performed
to validate the authenticity. This option may speed up the system
start a little.
- Scan created/modified files. Not only opened files will
be scanned, but created or modified files will be included as well.
- All files. The setting above will concern all the
files.
- Only files with selected extension. Created/modified
files will be scanned only if they have a certain extension (see
below).
- Default extension set. Created or modified files will be
scanned only if they have any of the "dangerous" extensions.
- Additional extensions. You can enter additional
extensions of files that should be tested when created or
modified.
